Some general things I like which might be relevant to this exchange:

• Meaningful sacrifice.
• Hope in the midst of despair.
• Rescues from the brink of death.
• Eucatastrophe (the opposite of catastrophe - a sudden joyous turn in a story).
• Quarrels and fights, high emotional stakes and risks, passion raging out of control, desperation, and sudden impulses.
• Canon-divergence AUs.
• Kinky, dubconny smut.
• People finding themselves in a Situation and working together to find their way out of it.
• Loyalty or devotion to a cause or a person.
• Admiring someone's skill or competence.

What I don't want:

• For most characters, black and white morality, i.e., this character is purely good and innocent, that one is bad and totally evil. Give them all weaknesses and faults -- and also strengths and saving graces. The exceptions to this are: Morgoth, Sauron, Saruman, Glaurung, and Ar-Pharazôn, feel free to make them as villainous as you like.
  
• AUs, other than canon-divergence. I prefer the characters in their canon setting.


• Character bashing just for the sake of bashing. I do like 'grey' characters like Maeglin and the complexity of the Gaurwaith's particular morality, so don't just make them pure villains.

• Glaurung captures Orodreth:

  I'd love to see Orodreth captured and systematically broken down by his captivity in the place where he used to rule. Glaurung, for his own amusement, puts him through various kinky scenarios until Orodreth has forgotten everything he once knew.



• Lúthien captures Thuringwethil:

  Held captive by Lúthien, Thuringwethil ends up finally willingly yielding her bat-fell, even though it will cause her death.



• Sauron captures Eilinel

  What if the shade Gorlim saw in the window of his house was actually the real Eilinel, seduced and turned by Sauron?



• Morgoth captures Maeglin

  Maeglin resists and resists, until he doesn't anymore.

• Morgoth captures Fingon

  Fingon manages to charm even Morgoth, and wins his way out with Maedhros/the Silmarils/whatever you like, in tow.



• Thuringwethil captures Lúthien

  The odds turned in Thuringwethil's favour, but Lúthien has charms enough to capture her heart.



• Morgoth captures Beren & Lúthien

  ...and Beren & Lúthien seduce him.



• Thingol captures Beren

  Before challenging him to go and get a Silmaril, Thingol locks Beren up. But when he comes to him at night, he can't resist the mortal man.



• Ar-Pharazôn captures Sauron

  ...and Sauron seduces Ar-Pharazôn.



• Gereth captures Evranin

  Evranin uses her feminine wiles to tempt Gereth into love.



• Gaurwaith capture Beleg Cúthalion

  The Gaurwaith take Beleg as a captive, and tie him to a tree for days. Beleg uses all his skill at persuasion to get them to let him go. It sort of half works, before Túrin returns.

Boromir, at last, has Frodo within his grasp, but that isn't the end of it, by any means.

Saruman captures Gandalf

...And Gandalf attempts to change his mind. They play a long game of attempting all their talents on each other.
